Jewellery Trends for Spring/Summer 2015

March 25, 2015 Allison Bray

As we enter a new fashion season it’s not only time to think about the new clothing styles to fill our wardrobes with, but also the accessories that will accompany our Spring/Summer 2015 outfits.

Straight from Paris, Milan and London, here are our favourite contemporary jewellery trends for the new season:

1. Slogan bracelets

Chanel’s Spring/Summer collection featured a cool jewellery concept that gives us a new way to express our personality through fashion. Their coloured slogan bracelets featured statements such as “Make Fashion Not War” and “Ladies First,” which reflected the bold, vibrant style of the accompanying clothing collection.

2. Statement earrings

If you’re going to choose one piece of outlandish statement jewellery for your Spring/Summer look, go for the earrings. Large, unusual and eye-catching earrings appear in the new collections from designers including Nina Ricci, Louis Vuitton and Prada, often teamed with contrasting stud earrings if the model has multiple ear piercings. Disc-shaped earrings are particularly popular, and the Lacewing hoop earrings by Kokkino are a great example of this trend.

3. Wearable tech

With the recent high profile launch of the Apple Watch, wearable tech is a talking point. The only uncertainty is how wearable these products really are. Forward-thinking celebrity is a big supporter of the trend, and just announced he is collaborating with Gucci Timepieces on a new smartwatch for the style-conscious.

4. The ring stack

One ring is no longer enough! This season the trend is to combine several rings to create a more individual and glamorous look, often known as a “ring stack.” Choose a mixture of sparkly and subtle rings to avoid going overboard with this look. Make sure to check out our collection of rings by British contemporary jewellery designers including Anthony Blakeney, Collette Waudby and Mirri Damer.

5. Ear cuffs

Ear cuffs are a hot trend that made it onto the catwalk for Spring/Summer 2015 after they were spotted on young celebrities, including model Cara Delevingne, pop star Rihanna and actress Jennifer Lawrence. They are often worn with hair braided to expose the ear, to fully show off the extra bling. Brands such as Balenciaga included ear cuffs in their new collections.
