If you love pearls, we think you’ll adore peacock pearls. These gorgeous gems have the same luminous translucence of their paler cousins… but their dramatic dark tone is a real head turner.
Peacock pearls, also known as Tahitian pearls or black pearls, are some of the most sought after pearls in the world. Many originate from a type of saltwater pearl cultured from black lipped oysters in French Polynesia. Others come from cultured freshwater pearls that are expertly coloured by hand.
The colour and luminescence of this pearl variety really has to be seen to be appreciated. They are primarily dark grey and green in colour, but have tones of pink and purple when they catch the light. What could be a more marvellous display of the beauty of the sea?!
Darker hued pearls have traditionally signified romance and eternity, which makes them the perfect gift to mark a special anniversary.

Peacock pearls really come into their own in the light!
We think they’re the perfect gems to wear for formal summer events such as weddings. Pair them with darker colours for a dramatic look, or with paler tones to make a wonderfully shiny statement.
However you choose to wear them, you can be sure that these bold pearls will add a whole extra dimension to your outfit.
