The jewellery we wear plays a big part in how we present ourselves. Whether you gravitate towards quirky pieces or simple styles, the jewellery you choose is making a statement.
Not sure that the statement you are currently making is cohesive? Nailing down your personal jewellery style can take time. Many people find that their style evolves as they do, and the jewellery they would’ve chosen three or six years ago is very different to the pieces they love today.
If you’ve undergone a style shift, or if you want to better define the things you love to wear, why not take some time to determine your personal jewellery style?
We’ve put together four stages to help you get started.
Step one: examine your jewellery collection
Your existing jewellery collection is a great place to begin. Find a clear surface and spread out all your bling. Pick out the pieces wear often, as well as the pieces you love and would like to wear more. Is there a common thread?
Step two: examine your wardrobe
We may be talking jewellery here, but we think there is a lot of value to taking a look at your wider wardrobe too. What style are the clothes you feel most yourself in?
Step three: seek out inspiration
Collecting inspiration is a great way to find out what type of pieces you are drawn to. Magazines and catalogues are a great source of images, as are style blogs and Pinterest. Save your favourite images in one place to look at later.
Step four: take stock
Once you have scouted out your existing jewellery, your wider wardrobe and your inspiration sources, it’s time to take stock of what you love. What type of pieces do you love? What common themes are there? Are you into classic sophisticated jewellery, cutesy kitsch, bright gems, urban bling or tribal inspired pieces?
Whatever your personal jewellery style, we’d love to help you find something you love. If you’re on the look out for something special, email us and we’ll join the hunt!
