You’ll recognise Lily James from both the small and the big screen. She first graced our televisions as Lady Rose in Downton Abbey, and has since starred in the BBC adaptation of War and Peace along with roles in major Hollywood pictures Cinderella and Darkest Hour.
It’s not just James’ acting prowess that has got her noticed over the last few years. She has also made a big impact in the fashion world. You may be impressed to hear that James graced the cover of American Vogue in 2014, only four years after her graduation from drama school. She was photographed by Annie Leibowitz, wearing the iconic pale blue gown she wore in her role as Cinderella.
Despite her Downton routes, off screen James’ style is beautifully contemporary. She usually favours bold colours and clean lines, with her signature loosely waved hair softening her look perfectly.
What we really admire about James’ style, though, is her eye for jewellery. Big earrings seem to be a particular favourite, and we think she looks fabulous in them. James turned heads at this year’s BAFTA ceremony in a pair of impressive platinum and diamond chandelier earrings.
When Lily isn’t opting for a bare neck to better showcase her statement earrings, she has a very strong necklace game. We’ve seen Lily expertly layering pendant necklaces, and she also looks great in a statement choker.
If Lily James were to visit us in our York jewellery shop, we bet our Collette Waudby collection would catch her attention. The mix of statement earrings and delicate, layering-friendly pendants seems like it would hit her jewellery sweet-spot.
