Jewellery Inspiration from Solange

Solange Knowles is a singer, songwriter, model and actress. She has released three solo albums, written music for major musicians and has been honoured with an ‘Impact Award’ by Billboard Women in Music. Oh, and she’s also the younger sister of one of the most famous women in the world: Beyonce.
Though Knowles’ main passion is music, she is also very involved in the fashion world. She is widely considered to be a bold style icon, and frequently turns heads with her outfit choices. She is also part of House of Deréon, a fashion house launched by her mother and sister in honour of her grandmother, who was a seamstress.
What we really love about Knowle’s style is that it’s all her own. Her take on fashion is unique and inspirational. She blends colour blocked pieces with structural elements in a way that seems effortless. For Solange, clothing is clearly a means for self-expression, and we really like what she has to say.
When it comes to jewellery, Solange tends to keep things minimal. Her less is more approach works perfectly with her bold outfits. She is often seen in pieces that feature bright hues to match her outfit, as well as metallic pieces that add shine to her ensemble.
To get Solange’s jewellery look, search out simple pieces in unusual shapes. Aim to choose pieces that will support your outfit rather than those that will be the main statement.
If Knowles were to stop by our contemporary jewellery shop in York, we think she’d be a big fan of our Collette Waudby collection. It features beautifully classic jewellery in stand out shapes.
